Eywa is the god of Pandora in James Cameron's movie Avatar. She is a being integrated into the Pandoran biosphere and can communicate with all creatures and keeps the balance of things on Pandora.
Eywa will slowly but surely move form science fiction to science. Eywa is the name of my new home automation system.
Now, looking into a way to switch the appliances on and off without needing continuous power. Either latching relays or something with SCR, TRIAC (father's idea) or something like that should do the job.
